Visakhapatnam: As part of Continuing Medical Education (CME) for doctors, GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (GIMSR), Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy (DVL) conducted a programme on Paediatric Dermatology (skin diseases in children) here on Sunday.

Organised by the GIMSR, the event was held under the aegis of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL).

GIMSR dermatology department HoD BV Ramachandra briefed about the CME. He said the CME mainly focused on skin diseases from the time of birth till the child attains 12 to 14 years of age.

Lectures and discussions were held wherein preference was given to young dermatologists and postgraduates.

The CME was inaugurated by Pro Vice-Chancellor Gitanjali Batmanabane along with Medical College dean SP Rao. The scientific activity was coordinated by Dr Rahul Ray, Dr K.Haritha and Dr Farzana.

Speakers from various places across India along with dermatologists from Andhra Pradesh gave presentations. Over 250 delegates participated in the event.
