Mahesh's Athadu satellite rights: MAA TV pays Rs 3.5 crores

Mahesh Babu's upcoming film 1 Nenokkadine fetched crores of rupees even before its release. It's worth mentioning here that the satellite rights of the film too fetched a whopping amount.

Let me tell you that it's not just Mahesh's new movies that are in demand, the actor's old movies too are very popular. The TRP ratings of TV stands testimony to this. Remember Mahesh's Athadu? Yes, the same film that starred Trisha in the female lead. When the movie was sold to Maa TV years ago, producer Murali Mohan got peanuts.

But now, we know that the film-makers won't compromise for meagre amounts. Besides, fearing competition at the Box Office most the satellite rights of most films are sold even before its release.

Now back to Athadu. Maa TV had the satellite rights of Mahesh's popular movie. We hear that the TV wanted to renew its contract with the producer after 7 years and guess what? The film was sold for Rs 3.5 crores.

Interestingly, Maa TV didn't mind shelling out so much for they know they can get the Return on Investment from Ads as Mahesh Babu's Athadu is among the mostly watched movies on their channel.

Win win situation for both producer and TV channel huh?
