Hyderabad: Minister for Transport P Mahender Reddy on Friday inaugurated JNNURM buses in the district. He announced that every village would be connected by a bus soon.
He said there were no bus services to as many as 1,100 villages. Bus services to these villages would soon be provided by laying roads to them. Stating that JNNURM had sanctioned 130 buses to Palamur, Karimnagar and Khammam districts, the Minister announced that 30 buses would be assigned to Mahbubnagar district now.
He said efforts were being made to make TSRTC overcome its losses and encourage workers with better performance. “Soon we will begin 400 Palle Velugu buses, 100 AC buses and every Assembly segment will get an AC bus to Hyderabad,” he added. Jithender Reddy said RTC workers played a key role in the statehood movement.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was keen on developing the RTC, he said. The MP also said KCR was giving priority to develop Mahbubnagar district with renovation and repairs of bus stands and depots that were neglected during previous government. MLA Srinivas Goud alleged that previous governments allotted old buses to Telangana and the new ones to Andhra region.
During TRS rule, the transportation was getting a facelift, he said. As Jadcherla and Hyderabad stretch was becoming four-lane road, road connectivity would be improved, he observed.
