The operation was conducted in several colonies located in Bahadurpura police station limits by closing seven exit routes in the locality. During the operation, the police identified 18 Myanmar refugees among which six persons were staying illegally. As many as 68 bikes and 28 autos were detained for not having valid documents.

The details of vehicles were sent to the City Crime Records Bureau for verification. The police also detained six history sheeters and six chain snatching offenders. A chocolate manufacturing unit named SA Foods was also raided and it was found that the proprietor of the unit was making chocolates of Kaccha Imli (Tamarind), Kachha Aam (Unripe Mango) with the name ‘Tinku’, using chemicals and artificial ingredients and no natural pulp of Tamarind and Mangos was found. “Samples of chocolates were sent to Forensic Science Laboratory and GHMC food inspector and also Food Control Authorities for their opinion to take further action,” said DCP V Satyanarayana.

He said the operation covered only 25 percent of Assan Baba Nagar and they would continue the searches further to eliminate unsocial elements from the residential areas. Further, he also said stern action would be initiated against hookah parlor organisers if they allowed minors. “Any obscenity noticed during the New Year celebrations, strict action will be taken,” he said.
