MP’s appeal to clear pending railway projects

Vijayawada: Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas submitted a memorandum to South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta in Vijayawada on Thursday demanding clearance of several pending projects.

The MP demanded the GM to regularise and speed up the Machilipatnam-Yeswantpur Express train to reach Bangalore before 7 am for the convenience of thousands of software professionals of the region. He said that the Vijayawada –Hubli Express should be named as Indrakeeladri Express. He said that Vijayawada -Nagapattanam Express should be introduced. The MP appealed to the railway authorities to prepare an action plan to introduce special trains for Krishna Pushkarams and to improve amenities for passengers at Vijayawada railway station. He said that Gunadala Satellite Station should be commissioned for Krishna Pushkaram for the benefit of pilgrims.

He said the railway authorities should immediately ground all the pending projects including road over bridges at Vamba Colony, Madhuranagar and additional ROB at Yerrakatta. He appealed to the railway authorities to clear the pending projects proposed by Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, including clearance for extending of BRTS road to railway station, construction of new box culverts at Nizam Gate.

Meanwhile, Machilipatnam MP K Narayana Rao appealed to the railway GM to rename Machilipatnam-Secundrabad Express as Panduranga Express, regularize the tri-weekly Machilipatnam-Yeswantpur Express, AC Coach facility to Machilipatnam-Tirupati Express, extension of Pinakini Express to Machilipatnam and development of pit line for maintenance of coaches.
