Ongole: The new Superintendent of Police for Prakasam district, Bhusarapu Satya Yesu Babu took charge amidst blessings of priests and best wishes from colleagues on Monday morning in the District Police Office in Ongole.

Before being promoted as the SP of Prakasam district, Yesu Babu worked as an OSD in Kadapa and ASP in Visakhapatnam districts. Speaking to The Hans India, Yesu Babu said that he will implement the need-based counter strategy in dealing with the issues.

He said, “I have experience of controlling the people involved with the faction, red sanders and disturbing law and order in the place. The district police will be very tough on the anti-social elements because the common man is important to us. We will try to make 100 percent justice to the petitioners and will be always available to them.”

Reacting to the questions about the involvement of police in crimes and political leaders in department affairs, he said, “The cultural transformation in the department is important. A petitioner comes to the police station only in distress. We should not harass him and increase the burden on him.

If the police at the station receive him well, that gives him confidence in the department and increases respect towards us. We are people friendly police and the public can complain to us even by using the iClik kiosks, WhatsApp, Telegram, Kaizala apps or even by a message to the mobile.

There will be one or two black sheep in the department in every district. They should behave well or face criminal liability and departmental action. Police will cooperate with the politicians and public representatives as long as it is good for the public. There won’t be any prejudice or bias in the department as police should be neutral.”

The SP interacted with his colleagues in the DPO, inspected the facilities in the office and invited cooperation to work together to improve the image of the department in the district.
