To develop entrepreneurial talent among students and create awareness about emerging technologies, iB Hubs, a pan India startup hub, organised a workshop for students and youth at Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences (AITS) on Saturday.

Tirupati: To develop entrepreneurial talent among students and create awareness about emerging technologies, iB Hubs, a pan India startup hub, organised a workshop for students and youth at Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences (AITS) on Saturday.

The workshop focused on emerging technologies like Internet of Things, cyber security, augmented and virtual realties and data analytics. Large number of students from towns and villages close to Tirupati have attended the workshop. As part of nationwide drive, the iB Hubs has conducted a workshop for channelising the energy of youth towards productive activities.

Hari Haran, Chief Happiness Officer at iB Hubs and an alumnus of IIT Kanpur, stated that students and youth have actively participated in the workshop. “Their enthusiasm shows how the future leaders of our nation are shaping into. It is a very positive sign for our country,” he added.

iB Hubs was officially announced by NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant on November 13, 2016. The startup firm envisages to accelerate the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in every part of India. With a mission to set up 2,500 innovation hubs across India by 2019, iB Hubs have already set up 30 hubs across 7 states in the country.

“We have a strong team of more than 1,000 people with 200 individuals working full-time. Our team includes engineers, management professionals, doctors, academicians, designers and has expertise in diverse domains,” said Hari Haran.

iB Hubs Vice-President (Student Relations) Shiva Shankar stated that they have conducted a series of workshops in various colleges across the nation to create awareness on entrepreneurship and advanced technologies. Shiva Shankar, an alumnus of NIT Surathkal,

explained that workshops were conducted at IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, NIT Warangal, NIT Suratkal, NIT Trichy, NIT Agartala and many more institutions. “Now, we are going to conduct more than 40 workshops in various districts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,” he informed. In the workshop, participants were enlightened with good insights on how to build a startup, design thinking, opportunity analysis and some advanced technologies.
