Release Prof Saibaba from prison
The police on Monday arrested agitators who tried to stage a dharna at the office of Revenue Divisional officer here demanding that the Union government should release Professor Saibaba of Delhi University immediately.Â
Amalapuram: The police on Monday arrested agitators who tried to stage a dharna at the office of Revenue Divisional officer here demanding that the Union government should release Professor Saibaba of Delhi University immediately.
They earlier tried to take out a rally from SKBR College, whose product Prof Saibaba is, to office of the Revenue Divisional Officer but the police foiled their bid.The police later released the agitators.
Political Prisoners Committee Telangana and Andhra Pradesh chapter general secretary Balla Ravindranath said Prof Saibaba is a differently-abled person who cannot move without the help of others.
But he used to fight against the government and strongly opposed looting of mines and encroachments on river bunds. The protesters said that in its 800-pages judgement, the court did not even mention a single word against Professor Saibaba.
They alleged that the authorities were not providing proper medicare and clothes to him in the jail. They demanded that the government should release professor Saibaba and his supporters treating them as political prisoners. The activists also planned to take part in Chalo Assembly programme.
