Tirupati: Everyone should practice listening, reading, reciting and thinking positively, said the Principal Scientific Advisor to Government of India Prof SV Raghavan. He delivered the valedictory address at the national seminar on ‘Unpublished Scientific Manuscripts in Sanskrit’ organised by Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) here under the aegis of National Mission for Manuscripts (NMM), New Delhi on Thursday.

Raghavan, who is also NMM Chairman, observed, “our literature essentially takes about coherence and synergistic state. Here, we should think of sage Patanjali’s words that the relationship between Chitta and Vritti”. Interestingly in present day scenario, every student is reading and simply by hearting which is not the way, he lamented and called for the preservation of age-old manuscripts. Combined efforts should be made to do research from the manuscripts, which was unexplored till today,” he maintained.

In presidential address, RSVP Vice-Chancellor Prof V Muralidhara Sharma stated that the country is having more than 50 lakh manuscripts. RSVP is striving to bring and publish some unpublished scientific manuscripts, the V-C said. The programme was started with welcome note by the Registrar Prof Ch P Satyanarayana, Dr TSR Narayana, Dr C Ranganathan, Dr A Sriram, Prof KE Devanathan, Prof J Ramakrishna, Prof RK Thakur, Prof Prahlad R Joshi, Prof K Suryanarayana, Dr C Raghavan, research scholars and other students participated.
