Hyderabad: City-based Freyr Energy on Wednesday announced the completion of 640-KW solar rooftop projects in Manipur. The systems have been installed at various government buildings after winning the tender from Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency. The new solar project also includes largest off-grid 100 KW battery system in Manipur Central Agriculture University.

Saurabh Marda, MD, Freyr Energy, said: “We have completed the projects successfully within the stipulated timeline of six months. The completion of these projects is a testimony to our capability to navigate through difficult terrain and establish our technical capabilities to bring power through innovative solutions to areas with challenging electrical infrastructure.”

The cumulative 600 KW also includes four 100 KW system each in city convention centre, interstate bus terminus, and national sports academy hostel in Imphal. The project also supports the Khwairamband Bazaar through a 50 KW system, the world’s only all-women marketplace and one of Imphal’s main tourist attractions.

The installed inverter maximizes solar power generation and stabilizes power from the grid. It also optimizes and exports solar power when the cost of grid power is at its highest and draws power when it is low. The system helps withstand power fluctuations and guarantees power round the clock which can also be monitored remotely.

Freyr Energy is a Hyderabad-based solar solutions provider with operations in India and Ghana. The company has products range from rooftop systems, petrol pumps, solar water pumps to microgrids. In the last three years, Freyr installed more than 900 solar systems across 16 states.
