Drunk housewife kills handicapped husband in frustration

A 40-year-old drunk housewife who was fed up with the behaviour of her physically handicapped husband allegedly killed him on Sunday. The incident who got to know about the incident on Monday morning alerted the police immediately.

Police revealed that the housewife, Suguna consumed alcohol and had an argument with her husband Venkatesh following which hit him with an iron rod on the head. The couple hailing from Nalgonda came to Hyderabad a few years ago and have two daughters and a son.

While the daughters are married, the son is studying in Class VIII in a nearby school. Venkatesh worked as a daily wage labourer while Suguna was a housewife, however, Venkatesh became bedridden after he lost one of his legs in an accident.

Suguna then started working as a daily wage labourer. The couple were alcoholics and consumed alcohol regularly but often had arguments over financial issues as Suguna’s earnings were not sufficient to maintain the family.

Saidabad police informed that Suguna hit Venkatesh on his head with an iron rod and thought that he had fallen asleep. Neighbours on Monday morning found Venkatesh lying in a pool of blood on the floor. Police registered a case of murder with the body handed over to the family after post-mortem and Suguna was taken into custody for questioning.
