Hindus worldwide are highly concerned after reports of desecration of second Hindu temple in Malaysia in less than six weeks.According to reports, a century old Muthumariamman Temple in Seberang Perai Central (Penang) was vandalized damaging some statues of deities on the night between June 1-2.

This was second such desecration, after similar incident at Sree Muneeswaran Amman Temple in Ipoh (Perak) on April 24 where some statues were desecrated, reports suggest.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that it was reportedly shocking for the hard-working, harmonious and peaceful Malaysian Hindu community; who had made lot of contributions to the nation and society; to receive such signals of hatred and anger.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged administration for swift action to regain the reportedly falling confidence of the Hindu community.

Rajan Zed further said that Malaysia Government and its various state governments should seriously consider providing adequate security measures to Hindu places of worship.
