In an interesting development on Wednesday, Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen legislator Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala urged the state government to relax the helmet rule in view of the rising temperatures in summer. The MIM legislator from Malakpet raised the issue during Zero Hour seeking relaxation of the helmet rule for at least two months. 

Hyderabad: In an interesting development on Wednesday, Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen legislator Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala urged the state government to relax the helmet rule in view of the rising temperatures in summer. The MIM legislator from Malakpet raised the issue during Zero Hour seeking relaxation of the helmet rule for at least two months.

“The summer has arrived and conditions are hot. These helmets further increase the heat for riders. Government should relax the helmet rule until the hot conditions gets over,” said Balala. The issue immediately drew attention of other members who gestured that the request would be applauded by people.

Legislative Affairs and Irrigation minister T Harish Rao, who was present in the House responded by assuring to take it to the notice of concerned minister. Citing the water shortage in several areas, Balala also sought permission from government to dig 20 borewells in each Assembly constituency to meet the drinking water needs of the denizens.

TRS MLAs Shakeel Ahmed and K Vidyasagar Rao highlighted the issue of pending salaries to employees of Nizam Sugar factory in Medak, Bodhan and Metpally areas.
