Measles-Rubella campaign from August 17
The Centre for World Solidarity (CWS) on Wednesday conducted awareness programme on measles and rubella. Religious leaders who included Centenary Baptist Church pastor Fr Ephrian, Ramakrishna Mutt paediatrist Dr Annapurana and Dr Shyamala Kumari, and eminent members of Brahmakumaris participated in the programme.

Religious leaders who included Centenary Baptist Church pastor Fr Ephrian, Ramakrishna Mutt paediatrist Dr Annapurana and Dr Shyamala Kumari, and eminent members of Brahmakumaris participated in the programme.
Director for Centre for World Solidarity Dr Gyanana Prakashan, District Immunisation officer (DIO) Dr Jayamala, UNICEF State consultant Dr Aruna, and WHO State consultant Dr Sucharita were also present. The State government with the support of UNICEF and WHO launched vaccination programme for children in the age group of 9-15 to eradicate measles and rubella.
The vaccination campaign will begin from August 17 and conclude on September 20. Parents are urged to get their children vaccinated. Vaccination centre will be set up at Anganwadi and Primary Health Care centres. The vaccinations will be given free.
