Bank of Baroda holds multi-level consultation meet in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India has directed all the public sector banks to conduct a bottom up consultative process from the branch level upward which will involve discussions at the branch-level, said K Sivaiah, General Manager, Corporate Office, Bank of Baroda (BOB), Mumbai here on Sunday.
He said this consultative process aiming at alignment of banking with national priorities, stimulating ideas and inculcating a sense of involvement among bankers down to the branch level was held on August 17 and 18 by Bank of Baroda involving all branches within the region's jurisdiction.
This was the first of its kind consultation where the branches were themselves asked to review their performance deliberately on the issues before the banking sector and ideate on future strategy and the way forward.
He said the meet focused on the ways and means to increase credit to various sectors of the economy, enhance use of technology to bring about innovation and enable big data analytics and make banking citizen-centric as well as more responsive to the needs and aspirations of senior citizens, farmers, small industrialists, entrepreneurs, youth, students and women.
K Vinod Babu, Deputy General Manager and Regional Head, Amaranatha Reddy, AGM, YVS Koteswara Rao, AGM of Regional Office Vijayawada and others were present.
