Amaravati: AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has read a statement over the state special status in the Assembly on Tuesday.

After the election of Deputy Speaker, CM YS Jagan has addressed the house. On the occasion, CM has moved a resolution on the special status.

CM YS Jagan said the decision has been taken that we want only special status and don't need the center packages for AP. He said as the inheritance the state has got 50 percent population and debts. In addition to this, the state infrastructure facilities have been lost during the bifurcation.

The Chief Minister has raised issues on the losses which happened due to state bifurcation in the house. Most importantly, Hyderabad which is the income and jobs generator of AP has been lost.

He said with the bifurcation, AP has faced injustice. The losses of the bifurcation can be only regained with the special status.

In the last five years, the revenue deficit has increased to Rs 66,300 crore. The employment generation potentiality has been greatly reduced. For employment, the youth has to look at other states.

With the special status, the industries will come forward to make investment and state will get IT and GST exemptions. By the coming of hotels, industries, and IT companies the state will be developed.

With the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission, the special states is not been granted to the state.

CM YS Jagan said the earlier TDP government has not spoken with the Planning Commission that's why the status has not come to the state. The promise has been made that the state which has faced loss due to the bifurcation will be benefited with the special status.

He said that justice has to be done, as AP is a low-income state and special status is the only lifeline for it.

YS Jagan said on behalf of 5 crore people we are making the resolution in the house. He said that in previous Assembly sessions they have done dramas by accepting the packages. With this YS Jagan has explained the importance of special status through the Assembly.
