1 held for posting derogatory comments on Dy CM
Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram): The police arrested one person for posting derogatory comments on Facebook against Deputy Chief Minister P Pushpa Srivani here on Saturday. Speaking to media, Parvathipuram Assistant Superintendent of Police Amit Garud said that the accused has been identified as a 45-year-old J R Venkateswarlu, a resident of Bengaluru and native of Kavali in Nellore district. He posted comments against Srivani defaming her on the Facebook.
Sumit Garud said that Venkateswarulu was not belongs to any party or any organization and he posted the comments under the influence of alcohol on June 11, 2019. Upset with the comments, Srivani approached the police on October 20, 2019. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and caught him. The police have sent letters to Google, Facebook and few others to trace the IP address and other details of the accused, he added. The police arrested him under relevant sections of IPS and IT Act in Bengaluru. The arrested has been produced before the court and he was remanded to custody.
