10,680 polling stations in Kadapa district: Collector CH Harikiran

Kadapa: District Collector CH. Harikiran has said that the administration has set up as many as 10,680 total polling stations to ensure ZPTC, MPTC, Municipal, Panchayath elections in the district.

Addressing press conference along with SP K. Anburajan here on Saturday collector said that apart from 1985 polling stations will be utilized for ZPTC, MPTC elections schedule to be held on 21st March as necessary infrastructure facilities are being made for conducting elections in a peaceful manner.

He said that there are 10,879 different sizes of ballot boxes are presently available and district administration has represented the election commission to faciliate another 1825 ballot boxes for the purpose.

Replying to a question collector said that as many as 20,000 staff in different disciplines are available against actual requirement of 14,500 there was no scarcity for election staff.

He said election will be held for 8,018 panchayaths in the district. However collector said that there was high court stay on Rajampet, Badvel municipalities due to various reasons.

District Superientendent of police K. Anburajan said that there are 20percent of sensitive and hypersensitive villages were identified against 8,018 villages in the district.

He said that presently 6,000 men were readly available and planning to brought 3,500 additional forces from other districts to deal the election in a peaceful manner.
