1,188 schools to get modern facilities: Mekathoti Sucharita

Guntur: Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita said the government will develop infrastructure facilities in 1,188 schools in the district under the Mana Badi Naadu-Nedu in the first phase.

Inaugurating the Mana Badi Naadu-Nedu at a programme held in the ZPHS in Prathipadu on Thursday, she said the government would extend Rs 15,000 financial assistance to mothers under the Ammavodi scheme from January.

Stating that opposition was making false propaganda on introduction of English medium from Class I to VI from the next academic year, she said the government was introducing reforms in education sector to meet the present day requirements of students. She recalled that the government allotted Rs 1,500 crore for the development of infrastructure in the schools.

MLC K S Lakshmana Rao said the Mana Badi Naadu-Nedu will strengthen the infrastructure facilities in government school and helps to increase enrollment of students. He recalled that former chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy started IIIT for meritorious poor students and urged the government to start model schools in backward areas.

District Collector I Samuel Anand Kumar and Joint Collector Dinesh Kumar were also present.
