12 country bombs recovered from farmer's house

Tirupati : Police on Sunday recovered 12 country bombs from the house of one Krishnappa, a farmer in Gatturu, in Santhipuram mandal of Kuppam area in the district.

Acting on a tip off, police searched the house leading to the recovery of the bombs which created flutter in the area. Krishnappa was taken into custody.

Police took up investigation to find out whether Krishnappa was making the bombs or procured them from outside. However, sources said that bombs were meant to prevent wild animals straying into habitations and damaging crops. Many farmers use country bombs to keep away wild animals from damaging the crops. A case has been registered.
