120 JNTU-Vizianagaram students secure placements in reputed companies

Fourth year engineering students from JNTU-Vizianagaram who recently secured placements

Vizianagaram: The engineering students of Jawaharlal Nehru technological University (JNTU) here are over the moon for being selected by various multinational companies just before completion of their graduation.

Actually the campus selections for normal engineering colleges have been coming down for the past few years. But the students of premier institutions like NITs, IITs and some other reputed colleges are being selected for jobs.

Fortunately the engineering students of this JNTU College of Engineering (V) are also being given opportunities just because of the educational standards being maintained here.

JNTU Kukatpally, at Hyderabad acquired the brand name in the united AP and subsequently JNTU Kakinada had earned reputation. Now the JNTU has two more branches in Anantapur and Vizianagaram too.

The campus here at Vizianagaram has been producing students from various branches like civil engineering, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, computer science, electronics and information technology. The experienced and committed staff of the JNTU College of Engineering here have been working hard to get more number of campus selections and placements for students.

Their efforts have yielded fruits and the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, CTS, Soctonics, Hyundai, Cerium Systems, Tavisca, Zebi, Miracle, Virtusa, GlobalLogic, Efftronics, Medha Servo, Invenio Systems and Nalsoft had conducted interviews and recruited about 120 students providing them a good package. Some of the students could get a package Rs 7.2 lakh which is on par with that offered to students studying in reputed NITs.

S Akhila Preethi of Computer Science who was selected for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) with a package of Rs 7.2 lakh per annum said, "The standards of the college are on par with the most reputed colleges in our State. The staff here are taking utmost care about our career and even guiding, suggesting and advising us towards the right path and bright future. I'm very much happy to be a student of this college."

Prof G S Naidu, head of the department of Metallurgy said, "Our college has best infrastructure, experienced and qualified staff too. Our aim is to put all of our students in best companies. We are providing training to students to provide them skills to face interviews and help them develop language skills. All these are helping the students to be a part of various industries. We are expecting more placements next year."
