15 trains cancelled to Visakhapatnam as anti-CAB protests escalate in Northeastern states
The Citizenship Amendment Bill passed in Parliament has hit with a row across the northeastern states. The protest has affected the Andhra Pradesh state as well. Trains from the north have been cancelled due to riots in the northeastern states and Bengal.
Passengers at Vishakhapatnam Railway Station were dismayed by the authorities stopping the trains going from here. The Railways Department has announced that it will discontinue the Falaknuma and Coromandel Express. Commuters are worried as they had booked the tickets.
Many protests are continuing to oppose the Citizenship Amendment Act. Passengers at several stations on the Howrah-Kharagpur route were agitated. Due to ongoing protests in Bengal along with the Northeastern states, 15 trains have been cancelled. Another ten trains have been partially running.
