156 Telugu NRIs from UK arrives at Gannavaram airport on Wednesday

156 passengers arrived at the Gannavaram Airport from the United Kingdom on Wednesday morning.

As many as total of 156 passengers arrived at the Gannavaram Airport from the United Kingdom on Wednesday morning. The screening tests were conducted at the Gannavaram airport and are said to be be taken to their hometowns on special buses after conducting tests. Officials have set up nine buses at the airport. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken a special initiative to bring back those stranded abroad due to covid-19.

A total of 13 aircraft are expected to arrive as part of the Vande Bharat Mission 2, said AP NRT President Medapati Venkat. Foreign Visitors from the Philippines and Abu Dhabi arrived at Visakha Airport yesterday. 78 people from Saudi Arabia Jeddah are scheduled to arrive at Gannavaram airport this evening (Wednesday).

About 144 people from Kuwait will arrive at Gannavaram airport on Thursday. Two flights from Kuwait via Amnesty are scheduled to arrive at Gannavaram airport. While the government has ordered the foreign returnees to undergo quarantine 14 days.

Andhra Pradesh has reported 68 new coronavirus cases in the last twenty-four hours out of 9,159 tests conducted taking the total tally to 2407 cases. However, the recovery rate is very much high in the state, as many as 43 persons have recovered on Tuesday taking the cumulative to 1639, and the number of active cases stands at 715. The death toll due to the coronavirus mounts to 53 with one new death reported in Kurnool on Tuesday.
