1,650 children participate in summer coaching camp
Visakhapatnam: The four-week long of the summer coaching camp for naval personnel and defence civilians of the Eastern Naval Command drew its curtains down recently. The camp includes a plenty of activities in various sports disciplines, badminton, basketball, cricket, football, golf, horse-riding, scuba diving, swimming, tennis, squash and sailing for children in the age group of six to 18 years.
Over 1,650 children participated in the coaching camp which was aimed to introduce various sports to naval children and kindle their interest in improving their physical fitness and to inculcate sportsman spirit in them. Certificates were awarded to all the participants on completion of their coaching camp.
Camp concludes
Meanwhile, the summer coaching camp organised by the East Coast Railway Women's Welfare Organisation also concluded. Led by president of the organisation Shalini Shrivastava, more than 100 schoolchildren availed the facility. Students had a range of training programmes to choose from the list such as art and crafts, yoga, guitar, chess and dance.
Divisional Railway Manager of Waltair Division Chetan Kumar Shrivatsava said such camps aim at developing inherent skills and creativity among children. Prizes were given to those who excelled in various training programmes and certificates were distributed to the participants.
