17 died due to heat waves in AP
Amaravati: The sizzling summer heat conditions which have reached 45-degree Celsius at many places in AP. With the rising temperatures, 17 people have died due to heatwaves in the state only on Monday.
The RTGS officials said with the after effect of the Cyclone Fani the humidity in the air has gone resulting in the dry weather. This extreme weather conditions will continue till 10 of this month.
The officials have issued the alert warning that the people should remain indoors and do not come out during the day time. Especially the elderly and children must follow safety measures.
Recently, Chambi Patan (70) who is a native of Koyyalagudem of West Godavari district has went to the Panchayat office to take his old age pension on Monday. After returning back home he died due to sunstroke.
In another incident, a three-year-old girl, Mahalakshmi who belongs to Vankavari Gudem in the district was playing outside of the house. Due to heatwaves, she fallen sick by the evening, she died while undergoing the treatment at a hospital.
With the extreme heat conditions, 11 people have died only in Prakasam district on Monday. Four died in Chittoor district. Due to heatwaves so far 17 people have died in the state.
