Eluru: Joint Collector K Venkataramana Reddy has informed the officials that Rs 176 crore are readily available for the purpose of acquisition of land intended for distribution of house sites in the district. Accompanied by Joint Collector-2 N Tej Bharat, he convened a videoconference with officials of the Revenue, DWAMA and Housing departments on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that so far, Rs 20 crore was credited to the accounts of farmers who voluntarily offered land for the scheme. Priority should be given to owners of private lands who come voluntarily forward to give lands for the scheme. With regard to government land acquisition, the layouts should be prepared at the earliest, he directed the officials.

The Joint Collector said that it was an opportunity for the officials to actively participate in the State government's efforts to give house sites on a large scale by Ugadi. The officials should treat the work as their personal work and finish the targets set by the government. They should bring name and fame to the district by completing the works as per schedule, he directed.
