18 new corona cases recorded in Prakasam district

Ongole: The Covid-19 nodal officer for Prakasam district Dr John Richards announced in a statement that 18 new positive cases were registered in the district on Tuesday.

He said that 11 patients were from Chirala, two from Yaddanapudi, one each from Ongole, Ulavapadu, Pamur, Markapur and Darsi. He informed that in the 11 cases in Chirala, nine were secondary contact of a single source.

Based on the instructions from the district administration, the Chirala municipal commissioner and tahasildar announced the town as Red Zone and ordered for complete lockdown.

On the other hand, the officials in Ongole also announced Gaddala Gunta, Pathivari Veedhi, RTO Office area as Red Zones on Tuesday due to the prevalence of positive cases.
