19 contacts of corona victim test positive in East Godavari
Kakinada: The East Godavari district on Saturday reported 19 corona positive cases from Pedapudi, Ramachandrapruam, Jaggampet and Bikkavolu mandals. All the 19 tested positive are primary contacts of a 63-year-old Covid-19 patient from G Mamidada village, who died on Thursday.
The people in the district are got panicked with the rising number of positive cases. The district registered so far 95 cases. The district registered 11 new positive cases on Friday and 19 cases on Saturday for which the officials are expressing their helplessness.
The new cases were reported from Gollalamamidada , Jaggampet, Rajamahendravaram, and Ramachandrapuram and other areas. All the cases in Gollalamamidada afflicted with a patient who died recently in G Mamidada village. Collector D Muralidhar Reddy and SP Adnan Nayeem Asmi visited G Mamidada village and declared it as red zone because of the severity of cases. SP Asmi directed the police personnel to implement the restrictions in the village strictly.
DMHO Dr Satya Suseela speaking to The Hans India said that district reported so far 95 cases. She said that the medical and health authorities have taken concrete measures to curb the spread coronavirus in Pedapudi, Bikkavolu, Kakinada Rural, Jaggampet and Ramachandrapuram with the detection of 19 cases in those mandals. Dr Satya Suseela said that the health teams have conducted tests on 400 persons, believed to have contacted with the deceased person and others who have tested positive on Saturday.
