2 crore sanctioned for stadium in Podalakur: MLA Anam

Nellore: Venkatagiri legislator Anam Ramnarayana Reddy said that the State government sanctioned Rs 2 crore for development of sports stadium in Podalakur town.

Anam Ramnarayana Reddy along with Tirupati MP B Durga Prasada Rao launched fifth State Inter-championship Badminton tourney at Podalakur Zilla Parishad High School on Saturday.

Speaking at the meeting, Ramanarayana Reddy said that they are expecting 2020 sports in the new stadium. He said that he had sanctioned funds earlier for development of sports stadium in Podalakur when Kakani Govardhan Reddy was Chairman of the Zilla Parishad.

Now, they are going to start works for construction of the stadium soon, he added. Anam also proposed the name of Kakani Ramana Reddy, father of local legislator K Govardhan Reddy, for the stadium.

Tirupati MP Durga Prasada Rao said that the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has been giving priority for sports in the State. Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy and others were present.
