2 first timers contesting for Assembly from Guntur

Guntur: IT Minister Nara Lokesh and Nazeer Ahmed are first timers contesting to State Assembly from Guntur parliamentary constituency in the district. Lokesh was elected to Legislative Council and got berth in the Cabinet.

Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Ministers Prathipati Pulla Rao, Nakka Anand Babu and MP Sriram Malyadri are contesting to the Assembly constituencies.

Kodela Siva Prasada Rao is contesting for 8th time to State Assembly. Six times he was elected from Narasaraopet Assembly constituency and now he is contesting for second time from Sattenapalli Assembly constituency.

MLA Dhulipala Narendra Kumar is contesting sixth time from Ponnur Assembly constituency. MLAs G V Anjaneyulu and Kommalapati Sridhar are contesting third time to the State Assembly.

Out of seven Assembly constituencies under Guntur Parliamentary segment, Nara Lokesh, Ponnur MLA Dhulipala Narendra Kumar, Tenali MLA Alapati Rajendra Prasad and Guntur MP Galla Jayadev belong to the same caste.

Out of 7 Assembly constituencies in Guntur Parliamentary constituency, Tadikonda and Prathipadu Assembly constituencies are reserved for SCs. Out of 5 Assembly constituencies, Ponnur, Tenali and Mangalagiri Assembly constituencies were given to the Kamma caste.

Guntur West ticket was given to Maddali Giri (Vysyas) and Guntur East ticket was given to Nazeer Ahmed (Muslim).

In Narasaraopet parliamentary segment, Prathipati Pulla Rao is contesting from Chilakaluripet seat, Kodela Siva Prasada Rao-Sattenapalli, MLA G V Anjaneyulu is contesting third time from Vinukonda, Pedakurapadu MLA Kommalapati Sridhar is contesting third time from the same constituency and Yarapatihineni Srinivasa Rao is contesting from Gurazala.

Out of seven Assembly constituencies, the party gave five assembly segments to sitting MLAs belonging to same caste.

Out of 17 assembly constituencies in the district, Prathipadu and Tadikonda in Guntur Parliamentary constituency, Vemur in Bapatla Parliamentary constituency are reserved for SCs.

Similarly, Bapatla Parliamentary constituency was reserved for SCs. Out of 14 Assembly constituencies, five assembly seats in Narasaraopet Lok Sabha constituency and three assembly constituencies in Guntur Lok Sabha constituency are given to the same caste.

Similarly, TDP high command is fielding candidates of same community from Guntur and Narasaraopet Parliamentary constituency in the district.
