2 shepherds die while saving sheep in Nellore

Nellore: Two shepherds lost their lives while trying to save sheep at Veerlagunapadu in Ozili mandal late on Sunday.

According to local people, sheep entered a pit filled with water in local tank which was dug by excavator.

The animals hadn't returned back even after 8 pm. Chintalaboina Pratap (35) and his brother Nagabhushanam (34) rushed to the tank and saw the animals were trapped in the pit.

Pratap jumped into the pit and drowned. Nagabhushanam also entered the pit for saving his brother and also drowned.

In the morning on Monday, villagers observed mobile phones and clothes and suspected something had happened. They found dead bodies of both shepherds in the tank and informed to the family members.
