22.7 lakh house sites needed in AP for poor people

Amaravati: The state government has identified 22,79,670 beneficiaries for the distribution of house site pattas under the Housing scheme. The Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, during a review meeting on Spandana programme, said nowhere in the country have so many beneficiaries identified for the distribution of house sites.

The sites will be registered in the name of women. Efforts are being made to give the sites even in the urban areas. Two cents of land will be registered at the rate of only Re 1. The first priority would be given to people who live on canals bunds and river beds. According to estimates, at least six lakh houses would be needed for such people.

The government has taken a decision to fill the posts of 19,000 village volunteers in urban areas and 9,000 posts in the rural areas by November third week.

Jagan said that there was a good response to Spandana programme and mostly representations were being received from the people for house site pattas, ration cards and pensions.

Chief Minister said that the officials were trained for following standard operating procedures in solving the problems of the people as part of Spandana programme.

So far 6,99,548 representations were received out of which 5,57,553 were solved, 49,337 were pending and 92,656 were rejected.

Officials from the Chief Minister's office would visit all the districts to meet the Tahasildars and Municipal Commissioners to take steps for solving the problems of the people.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure that there was no corruption in the offices of the Tahasildars, municipal commissioners, collectors and SPs. He said that a smile on the faces of the officials while receiving representations from the public would ensure 50 per cent of good governance and curbing corruption would ensure the remaining 50 per cent.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure the display of representations of the people in the village secretariats. He also wanted them to keep computers, scanners and lamination printers ready at the village secretariats so that pension and ration cards could be printed there from January 1. He wanted the officials to ensure that quality seeds and manure were made available to farmers and modern farming techniques taught to them.

The Chief Minister has directed the district collectors to focus on Rythu Bharosa programme and mistakes in Aadhaar seeding and other problems have to be solved by November 15 as part of the programme. The officials told the Chief Minister that efforts were being made to reopen the bank accounts of 1.87 lakh farmers so that Rythu Bharosa funds could be disbursed to them. Similarly, efforts were being made to correct the Aadhaar details of 4.89 lakh farmers.
