30 employees of Women and Child Welfare dept. tests positive for covid-19 in Guntur
Coronavirus outbreak is booming in Andhra Pradesh with an average of 750 positive cases daily. Recently, a large number of staff at the state Women's Development and Child Welfare Commissioner's office are tested positive for the coronavirus. A total of 70 employees are in the works while 32 people have been diagnosed as coronavirus positive. Officials said they received reports from the medical department on Friday night.
A total of 70 tests were conducted in which 32 were positive and 8 were negative. Another 30 people had to come to the test. Most of the victims were taken to NRI Hospital in Mangalagiri for treatment. Officers are in the process of identifying who met them while on duty.
Guntur Rural MPDO office, DRDO, Dwama, Housing and Women and Child Welfare offices are located side by side. Initially, a data entry operator got positive on the premises of these offices. All Rural MPDO office employees have undergo tests resulting six of them as positive on Saturday. Two people in Dwama's office and two in the judge's office have been diagnosed with the disease. Some of the colleagues immediately underwent the diagnosis to find that they had received the corona.
The highest number of 176 cases were reported in Guntur districts on Saturday alone. This was confirmed by Health Bulletin issued by District Medical and Health Officer Yasmin. This is the first time the district has witnessed such a large number of cases. Of these, 68 cases were reported in Guntur city and the remaining 94 were reported in different places. Another 14 cases were found in Quarantine centers. However, the state health bulletin said there were 60 new cases. So far, 1,670 cases have been reported, of which 938 are being treated in a hospital while another 713 have recovered and returned home.
