300 take part in cycle rally

Visakhapatnam: A good participation was witnessed for the bicycle rally organised by Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited and Youth Hostels Association of India, Ukkunagaram unit here on Sunday. The event, coordinated by the Environment Management Department, was hosted as part of the World Environment Day being observed on June 5.

Turning up in proper gear, about 300 volunteers took part in the rally which was flagged off by Executive Director in-charge (Works), RINL O R Ramani. Starting from Thrishna Grounds, Ukkunagaram, the bicycle procession covered almost all the sectors of the township before concluding at the grounds. According to Ramani, such rallies will not only help inspire others to follow suit but also motivate them to consider environment-friendly means of transport.
