Speaking on the occasion, Vishnu said 2,433 house site pattas and 182 houses under TIDCO were given to the beneficiaries in the division. He said the State government earmarked Rs 719 crore for distribution of house site pattas in the limits of the Assembly constituency.

He said beneficiaries of all house site pattas will get houses by 2022. He said basic infrastructure facilities like road, side drains, electricity, drinking water and transportation facility will be provided in the colonies developed by the State government. Referring to development works in Central constituency, Vishnu said a road will be constructed from Ramakrishna Puram to Ramavarappadu ring road at a cost of Rs 8 crore and tenders would be finalised soon.

He said efforts were on for regularisation of 1,800 house site pattas in the Central constituency. He alleged that the TDP cheated the people of Vijayawada by promising TIDCO houses and collected amounts from 12,000 people.

Vishnu alleged that the TDP leaders looted money from the people but failed to hand over 6,000 houses which were constructed during the TDP rule. He said the YSRCP government has set a role model for other States in the construction of houses. Officials from the Revenue Department and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation attended the house site pattas distribution programme at RK Puram.
