3rd Covid-19 hospital to be inaugurated tomorrow in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Krishna district gets third hospital for the coronavirus positive cases as the Nimra Institute of Medical Sciences hospital in Ibrahimpatnam is ready for the inauguration on Monday.

So far, the district has two Covid-19 hospitals in Vijayawada and Gannavaram, the GGH and the Pinnamaneni Siddhartha Medical College. The new Covid-19 hospital will be useful to patients infected with Covid-19 in western Krishna district.

Till now, the district administration conducted 50,000 Covid-19 tests and decided to conduct tests up to 3,000 persons per day.

District collector Md Imtiaz on Saturday conducted a review meeting with the officials at the camp office and asked them to conduct tests to health workers, persons suffering from fever, asymptomatic, street vendors selling vegetables and workers in the shops. He said priority should be given to vulnerable sections and added that the spread of coronavirus can be checked by conducting maximum tests and treating the patients. He said the state government has given permission to Apollo Diagnostics to conduct Covid-19 tests and asked the officials to submit the Covid-19 swab test reports to the officials as early as possible. He added that persons below 50 years of age and have no cases like blood pressure, diabetes will be permitted for the home quarantine. He appealed to people to attend medical tests if they are asymptomatic.
