4 die in car-lorry collision in Kadapa

Kadapa: Three members of a family and the driver died when the car they were travelling collided with a lorry at Kesapuram village of Chinna Mandem mandal on Friday.

The victims have been identified Kunjeti Bhudevi, 45, her brother-in-law Kunjeti Jagadeeswara Rao, 40, his son Kunjeti Harshavardhan, 24, and driver Sheik Munna, all from Kadapa.

According to Rayachoti rural circle inspector A Sudhakar Reddy, Jagadeeswara Rao along with his family members went to Bengaluru to admit his ailing daughter who was working as a software engineer there to a hospital.

After admitting her to the hospital and leaving his wife to attend to her on Thursday, they were returning home in the car. When the vehicle reached Kesapuram village, it collided with a lorry coming in opposite direction. While three members of the family died on the spot, driver succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. A case has been registered by Rayachoti Rural police.
