40 sand reaches working in EG: District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy

Kakinada: District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy ordered the officials concerned to take necessary steps for preventing illegal transportation of sand in the district.

He convened a review meeting with the members of District Level Sand Committee at his chambers here on Tuesday. Addressing the members, the Collector said that 40 sand reaches are working in the district out of 58. The authorities have given permission to 32 lakh cubic meters of sand digging in the district. Permission has been given to dig sand at Manasa Trust lands in Kotipalli village in K Gangavaram mandal. He said that they got permission to dig sand in Mulakallanka village of Seetanagaram mandal. He instructed the officials to take stringent action against those who violate the rules in the district.
