507 crore deposited in TTD corpus fund: EO
Tirumala: TTD Executive Officer (EO) Anil Kumar Singhal on Friday said that a sum of Rs 507 crore has been deposited in the TTD corpus fund for the financial year 2018-19. Speaking to media after the 'Dial Your EO' programme, the EO said the reports in the social media that the deposits decreased were baseless and said that it was a quantum jump of Rs 206 crore as against deposit of Rs 301 crore during the financial year of 2017-18.
He also detailed the contributions received in TTD hundi and the other trusts which also made a modest increase. Hundi collection in 2018-19 was Rs 1,214 crore as against Rs 147 crore in the previous 2017-18. During 2018-19, the SV Anna Prasadam Trust got Rs 140 crore as against Rs 127 crore during 2017-18.
The BIRRD Trust received donation of Rs 21 crore in 2018-19 as against Rs 11.8 crore in 2017-18. The S V Sarva Shreya Trust got donations of Rs 10.4 crore as against Rs 7.88 crore of previous year. The SV Vidya Dana Trust received Rs 11.37 crore in 2018-19 as against Rs 8.92 crore in the previous fiscal.
The EO said effective steps were under way to contain the forest fire in the Seshachala forest range in consultation with the AP government and TTD forest officials. The TTD has erected massive forest fire lines in the TTD forest belt and entire staff is kept on full alert to handle any eventuality.
