59 lakh cash seized in Tirupati

Tirupati: Urban police seized Rs 59 lakh cash in various incidents on Wednesday as part of vehicle checking on highways.

In the first incident near Anjaneyapuram check-post under the limits of the Renigunta police station, police seized Rs 8.4 lakh cash while transporting without receipts.

In another incident, Rs 6.8 lakh cash seized from two vehicles in RC Puram mandal. At Srikalahasti, cops seized 2 lakh cash and at Gajulamandayam junction in Renigunta mandal, Rs 39 lakh unaccounted cash seized from a a car. Tirupati Urban SP KKN Anburajan said in a press release.
