60,016 to get house site pattas in Tirupati Division

Tirupati: As many as 60,016 eligible poor will get house site pattas in Tirupati division comprising 15 mandals and two municipalities. The registration documents of the house site pattas will be handed over to the beneficiaries on the birth anniversary of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy on July 8, said Tirupati RDO Kanakanarasa Reddy.

The RDO held a meeting with revenue officials in the division on Sunday on the issue of distributing of house site pattas and finalised the mandal wise list of beneficiaries.

RDO said issuing of house site pattas under the government Navaratnalu programme is the most important welfare initiative as it would lay the path for the economic development of the poor and observed that for the first time, the registration document of the house site is to be given to the beneficiaries to help them avail bank loan for house construction.

For the sake house site pattas, 1,340 acre of land was acquired which includes 820 acre of government land and the remaining land was purchased by paying Rs 200 crore to the private land holders, Reddy said adding that for the 23,697 beneficiaries of Tirupati Municipal Corporation, layouts were made in Chindepalli, Mungilipattu, G Palem, Vadamalapeta and Surappakasam, away from the city as government lands were not available for issuing of house site pattas to poor within city.

The mandal wise list of 60,016 beneficiaries include Tirupati Rural (9,842), Chandragiri (3,297), Pakala (1,937), Yerpedu (1,647), Pichatur (455), Thottambedu (1,470), Satyavedu (1,584), BN Kandriga (529), Renigunta (5,335), Srikalahasti (mandal) (1,205), KVB Puram (900), Nagalapuram (677), Pulicherla, Varadaiapalem 1,143 and Srikalahasti town (3,552). Beneficiaries at Settipalli in Tirupati Corporation numbering 2,261 are also included in the list, he explained.
