618 new coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati: As many as 618 people tested positive for coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, while another 785 recovered from the infection and three more died.

According to the latest bulletin, the total number of positive cases now touched 8,73,457, recoveries 8,61,153 and deaths 7,045. The active cases numbered 5,259, the bulletin added.

So far, 1.05 crore samples were tested for coronavirus at the rate of 1,97,956 per million population, turning out an overall positivity rate of 8.26 per cent. Only Krishna district continued to report fresh cases in excess of 100 while four others reported between 50 and 100.

Eight districts added less than 50 new cases each in 24 hours. Krishna, SPS Nellore and West Godavari reported one fresh Covid-19 death each in a day. In the last 10 days, Krishna saw 14 Covid-19 deaths, the highest in the state, while East Godavari and Srikakulam districts reported zero.
