79 school buses without Fitness Certificate seized: DTC

Chittoor: Deputy Transport Commissioner (DTC) Ch Pratap Reddy said on Tuesday 79 school buses were seized for not obtaining Fitness Certificate (FC) in the district. Out of 24,000 school buses registered in the district, the managements of 400 schools did not obtain FCs despite repeated reminders from the authorities concerned, he mentioned.

The DTC warned of filing criminal cases against the managements for running school buses without obtaining FCs. Pratap also warned dealers for collecting excess fee from vehicle buyers for temporary registration.

"No dealer is supposed to collect additional fee than the prescribed amount towards temporary registration," he stated. Pratap further said provision of slots for LLRs would be issued at the DTC office.
