90,979 beneficiaries to get Jagananna Thodu in East Godavari
Kakinada: District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy informed Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that the Jagananna Thodu scheme will benefit a total of 90,979 beneficiaries in East Godavari district.
The Chief Minister launched the Jagananna Thodu scheme via videoconference from the Tadepalli camp office on Wednesday. Collector Muralidhar Reddy, Joint Collectors G Raja Kumari and Keerthi Chekuri participated in the videoconference.
The Collector said that Jagananna Thodu aims at providing a helping hand to small and petty vendors across the State. He said that the scheme provides financial assistance of Rs 10,000 through banks without any guarantee to small and petty vendors. He said that interest-free loan of Rs 10,000 will be provided to vendors under the scheme.
The objective of the scheme was to free vendors from paying heavy interest to private parties and prevent from falling into debt trap. The beneficiaries will also be provided with QR-based smart ID cards and the scheme will be monitored by SERP MEPMA officials. He said that 62,898 beneficiaries in rural areas will get Rs 62.89 crores and 28,091 beneficiaries in urban areas will get Rs 28.08 crore.
