A 60 year old man held for raping minor girl in Kurnool

Kurnool: A 60-year-old, Jinkala Pullaiah was arrested by the Revanuru police on the charges of rape and impregnating a minor girl. The incident has come to light on Friday with the doctors disclosed the fact that the girl is carrying 7 months pregnancy. The victim was sent to Nandyal general hospital for medical examination.

The police basing the complaint lodged by the victim's parents have filed a case under section 376 and 56 Act of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO). This heinous incident has taken place at Uppaluru village in Kovelakuntla manal of Kurnool district.

According to information, the minor girl used to accompany Jinkala Pullaia for grazing the shepherds. Since a year she was known to be accompanying Pullaiah every day. Neither her parents nor the villagers could doubt the character of Pullaiah as he happened to be the grandfather of the minor girl, in relation. Taking the advantage Pullaiah developed close intimacy and had his desire fulfilled. From the day it is continuing since a year, as per the source has said.

On some occasions the parents have noticed some changes occurring in the girl body. But thought the changes may be due to growing age factor. On Thursday night the girl fell ill and she was taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. The doctor after examining has disclosed that she is pregnant and is now carrying 7 months pregnancy.

Taken aback with the answer, the parents stressed the girl to disclose the facts. With the pressures exerted she revealed the things happened and the name of the person behind the crime. The parents filed a complaint with the Revanur police.

After filing the case, the police immediately took the accused, Jinkala Pullaiah to custody and is known to produce in the court for further action. On learning about the incident, the Allagadda, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Tippe Swamy rushed to the victim's house and enquired the details. He further ordered the officer concerned to speed up the investigation.
