A Minor Earthquake Reported in Raajam Mandal of Srikakulam District

A minor earthquake is claimed to be hit in parts of Rajam town in Srikakulam district on Thursday. The tremors in the Amman's colony in the Rajam town area shook the buildings, and the steel moving in the houses suddenly fell to the ground. G Sharadamma, M Kalyani and B Sakuntala of Ammanavari Colony said that they were forced out of their homes.

They said the couches and equipment on the table were moving. The earth was vibrating when everyone was busy in their works.

In the colony of the Amman, the houses were inundated with commodities. Some have claimed that it was an earthquake, while others dismissed it by saying it was sue to the heavy vehicle entering into the colony.

Land sliding has been witnessed in the villages of Pallita and Manmadipally. People in the respective villages say that these came mainly during the lunch break.
