A woman and girl in various incidents commits suicide in Andhra Pradesh
In a tragic incident at the villages of Neradi-B and Battili of Srikakulam where a married woman committed suicide due to stomach ache and the other woman for not buying new clothes for Sankranthi. According to family members and police, a 28-year-old married woman from Neradi-B committed suicide by ingesting insecticide on Saturday night. Family members rushed her to Bhamini government hospital after she was found lying at home in the middle of the night and was referred to Srikakulam RIMS for better treatment. However, she died on Sunday while receiving treatment there.
Meanwhile, the deceased's father, Sarisabadra Lachchaiah had lodged a complaint with the police alleging that she had quarreled with her husband over purchasing of new clothes. Battili SI Karanam Venkata Suresh said that the case is being registered and investigated to this extent. The deceased survived with husband and two children.
Kumbirika Kaveri, 12, of Odisha, a seventh class student in Battili, drank insecticide on Saturday night after suffering from stomach ache. Eating rice has been a habit since childhood. Police said she suffered a stomach ache after eating the rice. She was rushed to Jagannathpuram Government Hospital in nearby Odisha and was later taken to Raigad Government Hospital for better treatment. Relatives said she died while receiving treatment there. Kaveri from Vikrampuram village in Odisha lives and studies at her grandmother's house in Battili. Battili police registered a case following a complaint lodged by the deceased's father Kumbirika Prasad.
