ACB opens bank lockers of tahsildar, finds documents worth 2 crore in Kurnool

Kurnool: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) M Nagabushnam on Friday opened the lockers of the tainted Tahsildar R Govind Singh of Sanjamala mandal and detected documents worth more than Rs 2 crore.

The officer was caught red handed at his office on Thursday while accepting a bribe Rs.5,000 from a farmer J Ramehswara Reddy of Avulakonda village for doing an official favour.

A case was booked under relevant sections and he was produced in the ACB court which has sent Govind Singh to remand up to 25th October. On Friday, the DSP has opened some lockers of the officer in State Bank of India and Andhra Bank.

The DSP said to The Hans India, `` We have detected Rs.42.82 lakh cash, Rs 1.09 crore worth fixed deposits, 420 grams of gold ornaments and five house plot pattas and some bonds. All the amount and documents have been seized and will be produced in the ACB court, the DSP said.
