Accused in Rajasthani trader murder case held

Nellore: Chinna Bazar police on Tuesday arrested the accused in the murder case of a Rajasthani trader. The trader was shot dead on November 3 last year. The accused in the case Sandeep Raj Purohit, who was absconding, has been arrested on Tuesday at the RTC Bus Complex here.

It may be recalled that trader Mahendra Singh from Rajasthan was running Komal Power Tools in Fathekhanpet area and he was shot dead while closing the shop.The accused disclosed to the police during interrogation that he came to the city for settlement of money and other issues with Suresh and Durgesh and also for influencing the witnesses.

City DSP J Srinivasulu Reddy appreciated efforts of the police officials and personnel who arrested the accused.Further, Venkatachalam police arrested two people from Kasumuru on Monday and recovered 300 gm of ganja from them.

They disclosed during interrogation that they bought the contraband from an unknown person from Chennai and were planning to sell it locally to the devotees who visit Dargah at Kasumuru. Nellore rural police booked a case against V Chengamma and N Penchalaiah of Kasumuru for carrying ganja and selling it.
