Aditya Mittal, team visit VPT

Visakhapatnam: Son of steel magnet Lakshmi Niwas Mittal Aditya Mittal along with his team visited Visakhapatnam Port Trust on Wednesday.

They were accorded warm welcome at the VPT by Deputy Chairman of VPT P L Haranadh.

The team was taken for a launch cruise and the Deputy Chairman of the VPT explained the Port operations, facilities and infrastructure of the VPT. Haranadh made a PowerPoint presentation in the boardroom about the infrastructure facilities available, capacities in handling of cargo, modernisation works and mechanisation, covered storage facilities, solar power, sewage treatment plant for internal and industrial purpose, investment potential and zone of opportunities in exploring imports and export improvements in Visakhapatnam Port.

The latest developments like simulation study to handle Cape, Super Cape vessels into the inner harbour and newly developed container scanner equipment in VPT were briefed to the visiting team.

Apart from lauding the facilities in the VPT, Aditya Mittal appreciated the upkeep and maintenance of the port trust.
